Il Cùel dell’Orco è raggiungibile a piedi in circa mezz’ora dall’abitato di Turano (680 m) dove è possibile parcheggiare ed è presente un alimentari bar. I primi metri si percorrono su strada asfaltata lasciando così la frazione di Turano per giungere al tornante posto al bivio per Turano e Armo, dove vi è un’area pic-nic.

Si imbocca quindi la strada sterrata sulla sinistra e si risale la Valle lungo la quale scorre il torrente Personcino. Si attraversa il ruscello e si continua su strada sterrata immersa nel bosco; dopo circa 350 m sulla sinistra si trova il vecchio mulino. Si segue la segnaletica che porta a borgo Persone (sulla destra troviamo la traccia che sale ad Armo – Ponte franato indicato dal segnavia n. 74). Procedendo quindi dritto, sulla destra si trova, nei pressi di una area di sosta attrezzata, il Cùel dell’Orco.
I cùei erano utilizzati poiché in montagna, per vivere, venivano svolte attività tipiche quali fienagione, taglio legna, produzione di carbone e pascolo. Per stare quindi molti giorni sui monti, era necessario trovare un posto sicuro al quale appoggiarsi per nutrirsi, dormire e ripararsi in caso di cattivo tempo. Poco più avanti, si oltrepassa l’antico ponticello in pietra dal quale inizia la salita al borgo di Persone, in circa un’ora di camminata, godendo del
meraviglioso spettacolo che la natura ci offre. A Persone (898 m) è presente un albergo ristorante bar e, tramite il sentiero n. 79, che ha inizio presso la santella dedicata a Sant’Anna, in 3,5 km circa, si giunge nel meraviglioso borgo di Moerna (che si può raggiungere anche percorrendo circa 2 km su strada asfaltata).

Il tracciato è inizialmente un po’ ripido per poi diventare più tranquillo, sino a raggiungere le famose pozze di abbeveraggio dette “Pozze di Persone”, ove è disponibile una tabella esplicativa di flora e fauna locali. Si prosegue su comodo sentiero, passando per località le Fratte, e successivamente giungiamo ad un’ampia radura non alberata con una bella pozza contenente ancora acqua (presenza di rane e girini); da questo punto in breve si arriva a borgo Moerna (983 m) e successivamente si perviene in località di San Rocco, dove si trova un delizioso chalet bar ristorante con parco di tre ettari attrezzato per attività sportive e campeggio, eccezionale punto panoramico da non perdere (nelle immediate vicinanze della struttura
ricettiva è possibile individuare le cime circostanti tramite un pannello esplicativo).

Si raggiunge quindi la strada provinciale e, presso il Museo Botanico don Pietro Porta, si imbocca la strada sterrata detta “Via delle castagne” che, in discesa, porterà a ricondurci in circa quaranta minuti nell’incantevole borgo di Turano (680 m).
